Andrew Loftus

Looking for information on Andrew Loftus.    He was my great great grandfather.  He was from Crossmolina.  He was sent to Australia in 1818 as a convict for passing false bank notes.  He was born in Ballina in approximately 1788.  His wife was Elizabeth Murphy / Mash.  Children were Patrick, Mary, and John.  Elizabeth and Patrick and John arrived in Australia in 1838 on different ships.  Mary married John McLaughlin and arrived in
Australia in 1839.  All came to New South Wales.  I have lots of information from 1818 on wards but nothing in Ireland.  Loved to hear from anyone who can connect the dots in Ireland.    Thanks in anticipation.    Wendy Caculovic

Wendy,

If you go to the home page (www.loftusweb.com) you see a little search box on the top left of the page.  Use it to search for Andrew Loftus.  One of the things you'll find is:

Andrew Loftus - 1818 Australia

Do you have any knowledge of Andrew Loftus (Coachman) who was transported to Australia in 1818 after a trial in Co Mayo. He lived in Ballina but his wife Elizabeth Murphy, later lived in Crossmalina.
